IMPORTANT STUDENT SAFETY MESSAGE
AUTHORITIES CONFIRM MANHUNT OVER
NPSD closely monitored the search for a man considered armed and dangerous in Montgomery County over the past day and a half. After notification that the suspect was found dead on Tuesday, 12/16/14, all normal activity will now resume in our schools. Prior to this notification, as a precaution, outside activity was suspended and additional security measures were taken. At the same time, local law enforcement officers were asked to monitor our buildings more frequently while the search for the suspect continued.
NPSD thanks everyone for their support during this time, especially those involved with searching for the suspect. As a district, our thoughts are with the victims of this terrible tragedy. As always, guidance counselors are available to meet with any students having difficulty due to the recent, tragic events.
NPSD is continuing to monitor the situation in Montgomery County involving the apprehension of a man considered armed and dangerous. School will be held as scheduled today, Tuesday, December 16, 2014. With the advisement of police, there will be no outdoor activities (ex. recess/physical education) and school staff and security will be extra vigilant with security measures.
Parents are reminded that guidance counselors will be available to students throughout the day for any concerns they may be experiencing.

Today, Monday, December 15, 2014, tragedy hit Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Please know that throughout the day, NPSD staff members were in contact with law enforcement officials regarding this situation. Frequent analyses were conducted and appropriate protocols for situations of this nature were followed. A message to this effect was posted to the NPSD website.
Moving forward and as always, guidance counselors are available to speak with students who may have difficulty dealing with events of today. We also suggest that you carefully consider the level of information shared with young children and we offer this link for those parents interested in guidance. Our thoughts and support are with the victims of this horrible tragedy.
POSTED 8:45 A.M. :This morning, 12/15/14, police responded to a shooting that occurred in the borough of Lansdale. The North Penn School District has been in contact with law enforcement and we have been advised that a lock out at any of our buildings is NOT necessary. We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
