Welcome to the Home Page of the North Penn School District Transportation Department!
Our mission is to provide safe and efficient transportation for all students of the North Penn School District.
Every day, the North Penn School District:
Every year, North Penn School District vehicles travel 1.8 million miles (2.95 million km), equivalent to driving around the Earth approximately 74 times!
To do this, we employ 168 school bus drivers, school vehicle drivers and aides. Our bus drivers must take 20 hours of classroom and on-the-road training, pass written and road tests administered by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation 3rd Party Testers, all before they can drive a North Penn school bus. In addition, every four years, each school bus driver must complete an additional 10 hours of classroom and behind-the-wheel training, and pass another written and on-the-road examination in order to be recertified as a school bus driver.
In addition to our bus drivers, we employ 6 mechanics and they are supervised by our Transportation Supervising Technician to ensure that all our vehicles are maintained in top condition for the job of transporting your children safely to and from school.
Finally, all transportation operations are overseen by Christopher Gray, the Director of Transportation, Robert Sutjak, the Safety, Training and Personnel Supervisor, Diane Pyatt, the Dispatcher, Diana Blastic, the Special Education Router, Brent Talbot, the North Penn student router, Dave Wetherhill, the Non-Public router, Jeanne Decembrino, the field trip coordinator along with Sally Esbensen, Transportation Secretary.
We are all working together to meet the needs of all North Penn children.
