NPSD is a Google for Education Reference District
The North Penn School District is proud to announce that it has recently been named a Google for Education Reference District.
According to Google, Google for Education Reference Districts are districts that demonstrate excellence and thought leadership through the innovative use of technology, including G Suite for Education (formerly known as Google Apps for Education) and Chromebooks, to drive impact and positive learning outcomes.
Dr. Kristen Landis, NPSD Director of Technology, worked collaboratively with Technology Support Specialists and district E-Learning and Instructional Coaches through the program’s extensive application process.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment,” said Dr. Landis. “Our focus for our Digital Learning Initiative at North Penn is on supporting student learning and achievement by using technology as a tool.
Dr. Landis explained that she and her team of fantastic technology support specialists and district E-Learning and Instructional Coaches kept this focus at the forefront of their minds when completing the application to be named a Google for Education Reference District. This thinking certainly paid off, as North Penn is one of only seven districts in Pennsylvania and of 152 districts in the world to receive this honor.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the support from our School Board and Cabinet leadership team,” Dr. Landis said.
