Digital Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: April 2026
North Penn School District (NPSD) is committed to ensuring that our websites and digital content are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We strive to provide online information and services that are usable by everyone.
NPSD aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and follows the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
North Penn School District is working to ensure that its digital services meet the accessibility requirements for public entities established by the U.S. Department of Justice under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Our Accessibility Efforts
North Penn School District works to ensure digital accessibility by:
- Designing websites with clear structure and consistent navigation
- Using meaningful headings and descriptive hyperlinks
- Providing alternative text for images and graphics
- Creating accessible documents and multimedia whenever possible
- Training staff on digital accessibility best practices
- Reviewing website content using accessibility monitoring tools such as Acquia Web Governance
Scope of Accessibility
Accessibility standards apply to all district digital communications, including:
- Website pages and downloadable documents
- Emails and email attachments
- ParentSquare communications
- Classroom materials shared online
- Social media posts
- Videos, graphics, and PDFs
- Forms, newsletters, and event materials
Using an accessible platform does not automatically make content accessible. District staff use built-in accessibility tools such as headings, alt text, and appropriate color contrast to ensure materials are usable for everyone.
Continuous Improvement
Digital accessibility is an ongoing effort. North Penn School District continues to improve accessibility through staff training, regular website reviews, and updates to digital materials.
While we strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards across all district pages, some older documents or third-party content may not yet fully meet accessibility guidelines. We are working to improve these materials over time.
