Congratulations are in order for the excellent performance of North Penn High School (NPHS) students on the National German Exam including Ali Robinson who advanced to represent the region in the final round of the competition.
The National German Exam is similar to the English Keystone in many respects, but held entirely in German. For NPHS students to have achieved so competitively is indeed a testament to their skills in German.
Sixty-five students from NPHS took the National German Exam and 25 students earned distinctions including six gold medals, one silver medals, five bronze medals and 13 distinctions. Most impressively, three students were invited for an in-person interview with a grand prize of an all-expenses paid three week trip to Germany on the line. NPHS students Ali Robinson, Zoe Robinson and Kris Fink were all invited but only one student from regional may be selected to move on to the national level. NPHS' very own Ali Robinson was selected as one of only 60 students nationwide to be represent the region in the final round of the competition. Ali's application has moved forward to be reviewed by a national selection committee for a chance at the grand prize.
"Ali is the second student to make it this far in my seven years here," explained NPHS German Teacher Andrew Baker. "This is a huge deal!"
Baker also extended his thanks to administration for their continued support for foreign language and all of his fellow teachers for "contributing to these stellar students' capabilities!"
