Dear 5th Parents and Guardians,
As an integral part of our Health curriculum, fifth grade students will engage in a human growth and development lesson. We are partnering with Main Line Health’s Deaver Health Education Center to help deliver the lesson. Our school district has collaborated with Main Line Health program representatives to design a positive and supportive environment through the use of inclusive language that welcomes all learners. We will be offering this session to our fifth grade students during a special virtual session scheduled in each building.
A Main Line Health educator will deliver this important lesson with the support from students’ teachers, counselors and/or nurses.
All students in each homeroom will participate in the same presentation that will be led in a whole class format.
This lesson will take place after you have had the opportunity to preview the content. In order for students to participate in the lesson, your permission is required. A separate permission form will be sent home following the Human Growth and Development Preview Night.
You may attend the preview session listed below. At the preview session, we will review the content and discuss the specifics of the fifth grade human growth and development lesson.
Monday, February 23, 2026- 5th Grade: 7:00 pm-8:00 pm
