The curtain rises on the 54th season of North Penn High School Theatre with William Shakespeare’s charming comedy As You Like It.
The NPHS Theatre and Thespian Troupe 5464, alongside director Andrea Roney, have adapted the 1599 tale and brought it to 1968, complete with music from Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Simon & Garfunkel. The story is now set in Philadelphia, and turns a 16th century dukedom coup into a 20th century corporate takeover. The result is a delightful merging of Shakespeare’s most romantic comedy with 60s music, hippies, and more!
As You Like It plays November 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 PM and November 24 at 2 PM. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults. Gold and silver cards will be honored for NPSD residents age 60 or older. For more information about the gold card program, visit the Community Education Program website.
