NPSD Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program

 

Program Information

 

The North Penn School District (NPSD) Board of School Directors unanimously approved a revised property tax rebate program that will see a discount of up to $1,000 for certain homeowners and renters.

To qualify for this discount, applicants must have a household income of no more than $48,110 annually, and:

  • be 65 years of age or older; or
  • be a widow and widower aged 50 years of age or older; or
  • be permanently disabled and 18 years of age or older.

 

The property tax and rent rebate program is based upon the existing Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate program which has been in effect since 1971 and is funded by state lottery and slot machine proceeds. North Penn homeowners and renters must qualify for the state rebate program to qualify for the district rebate program.

NPSD is granting a 65 percent rebate based on certain eligibility requirements and income levels as follows:

 

  • 65 percent (maximum $1,000.00) annual rebate for North Penn homeowners and renters with a yearly household income between $0 to $8,550; and
  • 65 percent (maximum $770.00) annual rebate for North Penn homeowners and renters with a yearly household income between $8,551 to $16,040; and
  • 65 percent (maximum $460.00) annual rebate for North Penn homeowners and renters with a yearly household income between $16,041 to $19,240; and
  • 65 percent (maximum $380) annual rebate for North Penn homeowners and renters with a yearly household income between $19,241 to $48,110.

Q: Do I need to attach a copy of my school tax bill?
A: No copies of any tax bills are needed.

Q: Will a bank statement be sufficient as a receipt of the amount set forth as requested in Part D, line (b)?
A: Yes

Q: Is this school property tax rebate yearly or a one-time rebate?
A: It was approved by the NPSD Board of School Directors for the 2026-2027 year. It will be up for Board discussion whether to renew again for the 2027-2028 year.

Q: Is anyone available at the district level to answer questions?

A: You can seek assistance from your local state representative's office, you may talk with your local tax collector to see if you can pick one up from them, or you can stop by our Educational Services Center and pick one up from the box hanging outside our front doors just to the left of our main entrance.
