Summer Enrichment, Elementary K-6

Virtual Summer Enrichment Opportunities, K-6

What is virtual summer enrichment?

To promote continuous learning over the summer, NPSD will be offering a variety of enrichment opportunities for all elementary students who have completed grades K-6 in the 2019-2020 school year. These free offerings are recommended, but completely optional for students and families. Our goal is to provide independent, engaging activities throughout the summer that are the perfect blend of academics and fun in order to best support continued growth for our students. The program will run from July 6 to August 14.

This virtual program is designed for students to complete independently at any time with the engagement of their families. There is no requirement to submit completed work. However, we have a team of North Penn teachers who will be available throughout the program to answer questions and offer support to students and families. Please scroll down to see a full list of these teachers and their contact information.

How do I access these virtual enrichment opportunities?

Students and families should register using the link at the bottom of the page. Registrants will receive an email from the summer enrichment team inviting your student to their SeeSaw or Google Classroom within 24 hours of registering during normal business hours Monday through Thursday. Once you join the classroom with the class code, your student can access these activities any time throughout the summer.

Should you need support accessing these resources, you will be able to communicate with your child’s grade level teacher team through the SeeSaw or Google Classroom.

What is included in the summer enrichment program?

Learning Choice Boards

Tic Tac Toe Board

Learning choice boards are low or no-tech (not requiring a computer) activities that have been designed and created by our very talented North Penn teachers. These board are filled with fun and engaging opportunities for the whole family. For six weeks, a new board of activities will be launched to keep your student focused and engaged in their learning. Care has been taken to support all academic areas, special areas and social/emotional well being. By engaging in these exciting activities, your child will have the opportunity to conduct experiments, develop and create designs, learn about his/her community, and practice age-appropriate literacy skills. There is no expectation for completion. Your child can choose one activity or complete them all. Be sure to register using the link below and start having fun!

Freckle

Freckle Logo

Freckle is an online learning platform that allows students to practice Math and English Language Arts at their own level. Freckle continuously adapts to each student’s individual skills, so each student is getting the appropriate challenge, whether they’re working at, above, or below grade level. By registering for our free Summer Enrichment program your child will receive access to his/her Freckle account all summer long. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to get a jumpstart on some of the activities he/she will do in the fall no matter what the school year will look like.
