4/23/21 Free Summer Enrichment for All Students

4/23/21

Good afternoon,

To promote continuous learning throughout the summer months, North Penn School District is offering free supplemental enrichment opportunities for all students in the district. Providing the very best education possible for our students is our top priority at North Penn. We believe that all students have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in some form, and we want to extend this opportunity to students to engage in supplemental learning, instruction and enrichment. Please review a brief summary of the programs below for elementary and secondary students. More information about each program can be found on our website at the corresponding links below. Registration is now open for both free programs and will close on Friday, May 21.

Elementary K-6 Virtual Summer Enrichment Program

NPSD will be offering a variety of enrichment opportunities for all elementary students who have completed grades K-6 in the 2020-2021 school year. These free offerings are recommended, but completely optional for students and families. Our goal is to provide independent, engaging activities throughout the summer that are the perfect blend of academics and fun in order to best support continued growth for our students. The program will run from July 1 through July 29. This virtual program is designed for students to complete independently at any time with the engagement of their families. There is no requirement to submit completed work. However, we have a team of North Penn teachers who will be available throughout the program to answer questions and offer support to students and families. Learn more about the elementary program and register now.

Secondary 7-12 Supplemental Summer Instruction

The online program will begin Monday, June 28 and ends Thursday, July 29. Most courses are offered via our online program, Edgenuity, taught by our North Penn teachers (exact offerings will be limited based on interest. Please reach out to the contact below to inquire). Your student will work at his/her own pace throughout the course and will have access to our teachers from 12:00-3:00 pm Monday through Thursday for the duration of the program for support. The course will provide them access to the entire curriculum and will be tailored to their specific needs to ascertain the student is receiving individualized instruction. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to practice, learn, re-engage and master all areas of the curriculum. Please note, this is a non-credit bearing program and is not remedial. All students, regardless of their achievement in that course previously, may take advantage of this opportunity, but will not receive course credit or course advancement. Students are not required to earn a specific grade at the end of the course. This program is separate from our summer school program for credit recovery. Learn more about the secondary program and register now.

Have a great weekend!
